Jeremiah 40-44 tells the sad story of what happened to those residents of Judah who did not go into exile to Babylon—Would they learn anything?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: But in their folly, we (again) get a masterclass on the dangers of sin. Dangers from which only Jesus Christ can save us. Dangers from which He does.
