Watch for the Holy Spirit (2026 Summer Series)
In Philippians 1:6, 9-11, and 3:12-15, Paul describes clearly that the work of spiritual growth is something God works in us—the fruit of our lives is fruit He produces in us. But Paul prays for that to happen and works to encourage it to happen “more and more.”
He who began a good work in us will complete it… So, Paul says, I strain forward and press on ahead. And this is the mature perspective, he says.
How do people change? The Spirit changes people—us and them. What can we do? We can encourage this growth, built them up, with love and grace.
