The Witnesses and The Life: 1 John 5:6-12
The gift of God—His own life and life with Him forever—comes to everyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
But how do we know what this life is like? Or that there’s really life for us with God and Jesus? How do we know who Jesus is? How do we know that the building blocks of our faith are legitimate and worthy of putting our faith in?
So John, who is uniquely sensitive to issues of proof and veracity, lays out logically the three historical features of the story of Jesus which constitute God’s own testimony about Jesus Christ, His Son, so that we may know that we do indeed have life in His Name.
